Beach Safety Volunteers

Role

Beach Safety Volunteers (BSV's) are volunteers among the kite community who represent safe kiting at local kiteboarding locations. Although kiteboarding can be a safe a sport, there are times where risks can emerge and having knowledgeable and helpful representatives on the beach can help keep our beaches safe.

If you see a Beach Safety Volunteer at the beach approach them for advice about the location, the conditions, sensible launching and landing areas or ask them for help to launch your kite. Beach Safety Volunteers are here to advocate safe usage of our beaches to ensure everyone goes home safe at the end of the day.

BSV’s are not volunteering to teach kiteboarding and each kiteboarder/ beach goer should take responsibility for their own safety prior to arriving at the beach.
