BLASTOFf BOWEN - Kite Foil Series

The Blastoff Bowen will take place at Port Denison Sailing Club in Bowen between the 3rd-4th Oct 2026. 

Our aim is to have some great Kitefoil racing in the sunny weather Bowen has to offer at this time of year! We have six races scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday and there is an open racing division, and a freeride gear (Formula X) division.

Eligibility

The event is open to all competitors

Insurance & Registration 

Full KA Members 

• $200 Adults (plus booking and merchant fee) 

Non-KA Member (including event insurance licence) 

• • $275 Adults (plus booking and merchant fee) 
  • If you are not a Kiteboarding Australia Member, you can still enter the event as an Event Only Member. One-day event licence fees which cover you for the whole event are $75 which are included in the registration fee. Sign up for Membership and select the free Event Membership option or support your sport and become a full Member! 
  • Participants must carry public liability insurance. Get your Kiteboarding Australia membership here

Format

The event format will be primarily fleet racing. The event is Kite Foil, therefore any equipment may be used for the event

New to racing or on freeride equipment?

The event will consist of a Formula X division which encourages participation from new comers and kiters on freeride equipment. Participants will compete on a modifed course to those on dedicated race equipment.
