Expressions of Interest to become a Director of Kiteboarding Australia 2026
Published Fri 16 Oct 2026
Interested in helping shape the future of kiteboarding and wing in Australia?
Kiteboarding Australia is seeking expressions of interest from people who would like to contribute to the KA Board as we move into an exciting new phase under our new national governance structure.
We are particularly interested in hearing from women who are passionate about sport and interested in contributing their skills and experience at Board level.
As we transition to our new governance structure following the AGM on 29 October, there will be opportunities to bring new skills and perspectives to the Board.
As a Director of Kiteboarding Australia, you will be expected to demonstrate the experience required to contribute to standard board governance – a basic comfort with finance, budgeting, and the legal requirements of a company director.
Beyond this, our volunteer board members bring a passion for sport and some strong specialist skills. While a wide range of skill sets is required, of particular relevance is:
-
Finance and Accounting, including grant management and NFP funding (Priority)
-
Membership and Community Engagement
-
Marketing and Sales
-
Legal, Regulatory and Insurance
-
Innovation, New Development Areas and Entrepreneurship
This is an opportunity for an experienced professional to further enrich their career as an elected board member of Kiteboarding Australia Limited. Knowledge of Kiteboarding and/or winging as a sport will be strongly advantageous to your role, although it is not essential. Sport Industry expertise is also welcomed.
We have strong operational experience on the board and in our General Manager. The requirement is for new directors to bring strong strategic and entrepreneurial talents, which will help us grow participation and engagement.
You will be an individual who will act in the best interests of the organisation, sport and community. Commitment to the organisation's strategic direction is a must. Kiteboarding Australia's current Strategic Plan can be found here.
Board members should be willing to commit themselves and their time to ensuring the success of the organisation.
You will be prepared to attend general board meetings that occur 8 times per year (remote access is viable), the Annual General Meeting and actively participate in committees to help the development of the organisation.
Directors are required to be Members of Kiteboarding Australia. If you are not a current member or have any questions about this, please contact Becky for further advise.
At KA, we embrace differences in gender, age, ethnicity, race, cultural background, disability, religion and sexual orientation.
There are two positions to be filled - one vacant position with a one year term left, plus one vacant position with a two year term.
A Position Description (PD) can be found below to provide further details about the available positions.
The completed EOI Form (and CV) must be received by the General Manager by no later than 5pm Wednesday 18 November 2026, and can be provided by post or email to:
