Kiteboarding Australia is a non-for-profit organisation and every member contributes to delivering the highest standards of education and training to local schools and instructors, while enabling us to advocate for kiteboarding and winging on the national level as well as with the local councils. This means that our favourite beaches remain open for practicing the sport, promoting convenient parking, high safety standards and many more elements crucial for the growth and development of our favourite sport.

- Kiteboarding Australia is a non-for-profit membership-based organisation, run by a group of passionate volunteers -

Community, development of the sport, skill progression and safety are at the core of our values and mission. As such, all proceeds from the membership sales are re-invested into maximising value and benefits for the members, encouraging participation, building an inclusive community, driving progression, ensuring safety and advocating for the development of the sport.

Joining Kiteboarding Australia comes with many great benefits for kiteboarders and wing boarders alike. Our membership is structured into two streams:

Kiting+ Winging Membership

Winging Only Membership

Each stream has a different scope of activities included under the membership.

National Insurance Program

Kiteboarding and winging are extreme sports and whether on the water or on the beach, there are risks involved. We have the most comprehensive public liability insurance for extreme water sports offering you up to AUD20 million in cover. Public liability coverage includes recreational participation.

The program also includes a personal accident policy, covering you for specific expenses that may arise when you hurt yourself while kiteboarding or winging. Personal accident coverage includes recreational participation.

Entry to Kiteboarding Australia events

Kiteboarding Australia in conjunction with our state associations and event organisers facilitate a magnitude of events throughout the year in all states, including kiteboarding and winging competitions as well as social events across a range of disciplines (e.g. freestyle, racing, wave, free riding, downwinders and more). Your membership will give you access to all these events.

Demo Days & Expos

Be the first to try the latest gear in the industry and find out about the most recent trends and innovation in the sport at one of our Expos or Demo Days. Run in all states, these events bring international brands, manufacturers, local retailers and schools together to showcase the latest gear. The most cutting-edge technology all on display at your local beach.

Supporting Training & Development

Kiteboarding Australia is committed to the progressive and safe development of the sport and all of its members. We have a well-established school and instructor network across Australia. This allows us to collaborate across the country and deliver the highest standards of learning and development with the ultimate goal of ensuring a safe, enjoyable and progressive experience for beginners as well as those wishing to take their kiteboarding or winging skills to the next level.

Beach Access & Advocacy

Access to your favourite beaches around the country for kiteboarding and winging is fundamental to the enjoyment of the sport and progression. Kiteboarding Australia is committed to advocating for the sport with local councils and government bodies to assist with open beach access and growth of the sport.
